Fishing

The region offers a number of locations for coarse and fly fishing, including the well-known River Stour. Please note that a NRA Rod Licence is required by all persons aged 12 years and over.

Fishing along the River Stour

Coarse Fishing on the Stour around Wimborne Minster is controlled by local angling clubs. Contact Minster Sports on (01202) 882240 for further information on day licences.

Coarse Fishing on Lakes:

Cranborne Lakes: Cranborne, 4 acres with carp & roach. Tel: (01425) 655003

East Moors Lake: St Leonards. Open from 1st April, day tickets available. Tel: (01202) 872302

Gold Oak Farm: Nr Cranborne, 7 small lakes with carp, tench, roach & chubb. Open all year. Tel: (01725) 517275

Martins Farm Fishery: Woodlands, Nr Verwood. Tench, perch, carp & roach, day tickets available, advance booking advised. Tel: (01202) 822335

Moors Valley Country Park: Ashley Heath, Nr Ringwood. Various fish including pike, roach, dace & perch. Close season applies. Day tickets from the Visitor Centre. Tel: (01425) 470721

Riverside Lakes: Riverside, Slough Lane, Horton. 3 different lakes fully stocked with mature fish; mirror & common carp, roach, tench, bream, rudd, perch and eels. Day tickets available, all under 14s must be accompanied. Tel: (01202) 821212

Whitemoor Lake: Holt, Nr Wimborne. Purpose built lake with most breeds including carp, roach, perch & bream. Tickets from Minster Sports (above).

Fly Fishing:
